Bin design gets pretty complicated. The pressures exerted by stored 
grain are sometimes modelled as if they were a fluid, but it's little 
better than a guess. Check the ASAE web site <http://www.asae.org/> for 
applicable design codes. Click on 'technical library' and search on 
'bins and silos.' <http://www.erpt.org/992q/tard-00.htm> has a 
comprehensive paper on bin design.
